Winter Sonata

The violinist Sarah Chang is recognized around the world as one of the classical music's most captivating and passionate artists. Her musical insight, tuneful maturity, technical virtuosity, and sensitivity astonish musicgoers worldwide. Her remarkable accomplishments were recognized in 1999 with the Avery Fisher Prize, one of the most prestigious awards given to instrumentalists, among several others she received.

Born in Philadelphia to Korean parents, Sarah Chang started playing at the age of four, studied at the prestigious Juilliard School by five, and by eight performed as soloist with the New York Philharmonic. She has been collaborating with the best orchestras in Europe, America and Asia, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw.

At CCM, Sarah Chang will be accompanied by the American pianist Andrew von Oeyen to perform the romantic Brahams?Sonata for Violin and Piano in D minor and Franck's Violin and Piano Sonata in A major, which has a final movement that offers one of the most delightful and sublime dialogue between the violin and the piano in the repertoire. Besides, thereY the Macao premiere of ź\antasy?by the American composer Christopher Theofanidis, specially composed for Sarah Chang. Feel her music sparkling on you!
